Resettle a Refugee Family
When refugee families arrive in their new homes, they often have little more than the clothes on their backs and the few items they were able to fit in their luggage. Starting a new life in a new country is intimidating and difficult, but this gift will provide refugee families in need with
- funds for one month’s rent as they settle into their new home
- two weeks’ worth of healthy groceries
- peace of mind knowing they have a financial cushion as they navigate acclimating to a new country and culture
The Impact of Your Gift
At the Denver ministry center, Send Relief offers English Chat Clubs, where volunteers go to a refugee’s home to help them learn and practice their English. Zeba, a wife and mother from Afghanistan, has been part of a Chat Club for a year. The same four volunteers who started with Zeba continue to visit her weekly. They are building relationships with her and her family and finding new ways to serve them and share the gospel. Families like Zeba’s receive welcome baskets when they first arrive in the U.S. Based on their needs, they might also receive a food box or help with rent and groceries.
